We opened our hive for the first time yesterday since welcoming honeybees to our farm.
The collective remained completely calm and unperturbed by our presence and continued humming right along, hard at work building comb and tending brood as we shuffled the top bars to give them room to grow. We marveled at their gentle murmur and thought it a balm for our souls as we worked. Given we still had the warmth of our encounter in our hearts, we were especially tickled to see an article from National Geographic that illuminated how Evening Primrose flowers responded to the sound of pollinators by temporarily sweetening their nectar.
What a wonderful testament to the many ways nature supports synergy, connection, reciprocity, and relationship.
We think the world could use more people listening for sounds that sweeten a day and wanted to share.
We know the sound of our hive sweetened us.
Bless and blessed be,
